2022 Ford F-250 Towing Guide Engine Options
Take advantage of high performance no matter which of the three Super Duty engines you select. All three engines can be paired with a TorqShift® ten-speed automatic transmission, with the exception of the 6.2L V8 engine when equipped to the Super Duty F-250, which features a TorqShift G six-speed transmission. Style your truck to your exact specifications when you drive a 2022 Ford Super Duty. There are three cabs to choose from — Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Super Crew. The Regular Cab seats three passengers total, while the SuperCab and Crew Cab can both seat six comfortably. You’ll also have a choice between a 6.75-foot bed or an 8-foot bed.

To reduce noise and improve combustion, a 36,000-psi fuel injection system with injectors is incorporated in the 6.7L V8 Power Stroke engine. This turbo diesel powertrain also includes new steel pistons designed to deliver dynamic specs.
7.3L Gas V8
The 7.3L Gas V8 engine is a formidable addition to the Super Duty lineup. This engine outputs up to 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, which leads to 19,500 pounds in maximum fifth wheel/gooseneck towing capacity when properly equipped. Port injection with variable-valve timing elevates the intake and exhaust of this engine to increase performance, while oil jets cool the pistons when towing heavy loads.
